Denis Mayer is currently the Associate Vice-President of Student Affairs at Laurentian University. This department includes the following units: Continuing Education, Liaison & Recruitment, Health Services and counseling, Placement Centre, Special needs, Laurentian International and the First Year Experience Office. Mr. Mayer is responsible for the strategic direction, financial and resource management, and coordination of all services provided by these areas. Denis chairs the University wide recruitment and Retention committees and has maintained an active role in distance education within Laurentian. He is a former chair of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Virtual University-Université virtuelle canadienne (CVU-UVC). Denis is also former chair of the Canadian Association for Distance Education and the Ontario Council for Continuing Education in Ontario.
