The MANITOBA ASSOCIATION FOR DISTRIBUTED LEARNING AND TRAINING MADLaT) is a voluntary, non-profit association made up of individuals and corporate members interested in distributed learning and training in Manitoba. Individuals include members from K to S4 and post-secondary educational institutions, private trainers, multimedia providers and information technology providers and corporations. The purpose of the Association is to actively foster collaboration, cooperation and understanding among those involved with distributed learning and training in Manitoba. The Association is a voluntary association of the universities and colleges in the Atlantic region and in the West Indies which offer programmes leading to a degree or have degree- granting status. Today the Association represents the collective interests of 18 member institutions.

Athabasca University is Canada's leading distance-education university: Canada's Open University. In 1999-2000 it served almost 20,000 students, and the number is rising at a rate in excess of 20% per year. CAUCE is a professional association of deans, directors, senior administrative personnel and practitioners whose professional careers are in university continuing education in Canada. Membership in CAUCE is on an institutional basis with most benefits of membership also extended to subscriber members.
The Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) is Canada's national organization dedicated exclusively to international education. CBIE's activities comprise advocacy, research and information services, training programs, scholarship management, professional development for international educators and a host of other services for member institutions and learners.
